I-95 Ramp Closure Planned as Lynnfield DPW Seeks New Hires

LYNNFIELD — Lynnfield residents are being warned of an upcoming I-95 ramp closure as the town's Department of Public Works works to fill several open positions, according to notices posted on the town's website.

TOWN HALL

MassDOT and its contractor, McCourt, are planning a closure of an I-95 ramp, the town announced in a Traffic Alert posted to its News Flash board. No further details on timing or which ramp were included in the notice.

Separately, the DPW is looking to fill bus driver, truck driver, equipment operator and skilled laborer positions "effective immediately," the town said. Town Hall is also collecting nominations for the Daniel Townsend Award for Excellence; nominations can be submitted by email or hand-delivered to Town Hall. The town has also posted items for public auction, with bidding open now through the town's online portal.

SCHOOLS

Lynnfield Public Schools highlighted its summer reading groups in a "Summer Reading Groups in Action" update posted to the district's news page, alongside a Lynnfield High School news item dated September 18. Specifics on the reading program's scope were not detailed in the posting.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Lynnfield Public Library has several programs on tap this week. Adults can drop in for Tea Time on Monday, September 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a Mah Jong Meet Up that evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Tuesday, September 22, the library hosts Terrific Tuesdays with the North Suburban Child & Family Resource Network for children ages 0 to 5 from 4 to 4:45 p.m., and the Library Foundation Board of Directors meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
