Lynnfield schools set PD days, early release this week
Lynnfield Public Schools Superintendent Tom Geary announced a full professional development day Nov. 3 with no school, and a half day with early release Nov. 4, plus a bus transportation survey closing Friday.
Lynnfield Public Schools Superintendent Tom Geary issued his November newsletter Nov. 2, outlining schedule changes, student and staff recognition, and a transportation survey deadline.
Students will have no school Nov. 3 for a full districtwide professional development day, and will be released early Nov. 4 for a half day of professional development. Geary said staff will use the time for training on strengthening student relationships and behavior support, the district's new elementary Reveal Math curriculum, using AI to improve accessibility, curriculum mapping, emergency medication administration, and Signs of Suicide training.
At a recent School Committee meeting, Lynnfield High School students Rishabh Anand, Nathan Malenfant, Sophia Tramontozzi, Ritvik Mahajan and Prabhsimar Pabla discussed their experiences on the Math Team, Debate Team, Mock Trial Team, Women's Forum and National History Day.
The newsletter also recognized several staff members, including high school teacher Mr. Forster for his leadership of the Social Studies department and Student Council, and Summer Street School second grade teacher Lisa Forrest, who is retiring in December after decades at the school.
Lynnfield Public Schools is reviewing its student transportation policy and is asking families to complete a survey on transportation needs and potential changes to busing fees and distance guidelines. The survey closes this Friday.
