Library, Boards Set Packed Schedule For Early August
Town business this week has centered on a handful of upcoming board meetings and library programming, while regional political and school-district stories continue to draw attention from readers.

The Historical Commission meets Wednesday, Aug. 5, followed by the Anti-Hate Task Force on Thursday, Aug. 6. Later in the month, the Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet Aug. 18, while a planned Aug. 19 session of the Open Space & Recreation Working Group has been canceled, according to the town's online calendar.
SCHOOLS
Lynnfield Public Schools continues to promote its 250th Anniversary contests, inviting students to participate in photography, art, and essay competitions tied to the town's semiquincentennial. The district's calendar confirms the first day of school for grades 1-12 is set for Wednesday, Sept. 2, with kindergarten registration having opened earlier this year.

The Lynnfield Public Library has a full slate of programs this week. A Coloring Club for adults and teens runs Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., followed the same evening by "Cemetery Safari with Jeff Belanger," also for adults and teens, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. On Thursday, Aug. 6, the library hosts a Classic Film Club session on the silent film era for all ages from 10 a.m. to noon, and a virtual yoga class at noon. The library also continues its back-to-school supply drive with Citizens Inn, and notes that its roof repair project is ongoing through the summer.
